Stephen Doody 500

At last night’s Manawatu Harness Racing Club AGM, we had the honour of recognising an incredible milestone for our resident trainer, Stephen Doody.

Stephen was presented with a special photograph celebrating his achievement of training 500 winners.

The image showcases his very first winner, Super Lorette in 1982, and his 500th, Johnny Who, on October 30th 2025. It also features some of the standouts he’s guided over the years: the future greats Blossom Lady and Mister D G, the ‘Prince of Palmy’ Te Kawau, and his 18-win trotter Braig
